Last Call

It is the end of an era - but is it really? This is the Last Dodge Challenger Demon rolling off the floor today at the Brampton Assembly Plant. A lot of people are asking me what is going to happen and I am happy to say the story will not end here. Did anybody really think this revived classic muscle car was going to fade away quietly? No. Definitely not and don't let all the marketing fool you. In the end people tend to get what they want and the cycle of powerful vehicles since the seventies gas shortage is proof positive.

In the eighties-nineties every one talked about fuel efficiency while buying Chevy Suburbans at the same time. Look around and the sheer amount of SUVs currently on the road tells a different story. Consumption fuels every industry. Without the consumers wholehearted involvement, their wallets, industries just fall apart. Look at the electric bicycles lined up in NYC and empty bike lanes and that message is clearly being ignored.

The first Dodge Challenger only ran a four year production cycle. Regulations and public opinion were altered but the profit cycle was not. Consumers were forced to buy all kinds of cars to help the environment. Like the 1983 Challenger! In the end people are people and most don't want to suffer today for tomorrow's sake. Thankfully the gas guzzling SUVs paved the way for the Chargers return followed quickly by the Challenger. People missed this kind of driving excitement! But nothing lasts forever. It is amazing we made it this far with the modern rendition and what a great run too!!!

This Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 is an awesome send off to this awe inspiring vehicle. I remember when the 2006 Challenger Concept came out and just not believing it would ever really be produced. Then in 2008 it felt like a life long dream had become a reality. In 2011 I finally got my first Dodge Challenger and my face hurt from smiling so much the first week I had it. Then I started meeting people - as they were smiling and waving and walking up to me every where I went. I know that many of you have probably experienced the same feeling!

I've always felt that muscle cars have secret power - other than what's under the hood - The power to make people smile! The world needs to smile more and these vehicles drive more than their owners too. Not a day goes by that another driver doesn't wave or smile or even laugh. I drive slower so they can get a better view!

It is the end of an era but not the story. Dodge Challengers, Chargers and all Muscle Cars have a loud and powerful history. We will Not Fade Away!!!
