Hot Wheels 1:64 Diecast 1970 Dodge Challenger 440 Shaker Yellow

Hot Wheels '70 Dodge Challenger 440 Shaker

This 100% Hot Wheels Dodge Challenger was released in 2000 and came in a four car set celebrating the 30th Anniversary of '70 Muscle Cars. 100% Hot Wheels details include chrome wheels, rubber tires, painted engine, painted base and an opening hood to display the 440 V8. Equipped with a beefy shaker, the weight of this model makes it feel extra special too. I don't have a lot of Hot Wheels Challengers with opening hoods like this and I'd love to see more. There is definitely some heavy metal clanging when you close this hood. The black side stripes with Challenger and R/T badges along with silver trim and chrome bumper really make this 1:64 model look larger than life.

1970 Dodge Challenger Hot Wheels 100% TA 340 Six Pack (1).JPG

Hot Wheels 100% 40th Anniversary Dodge Challenger Yellow T/A 340 Six Pack.

Description on box: "A response to the Mustang and Camaro, Dodge released the Challenger as its pony car. But the lithe body frame separated it from the competition. The design had been created back in 1965, with the first prototypes released in '68. Customers could choose from 9 types of engines, with the top of the line being the 426 Hemi. The public instantly responded to this car and 80,000 sold in the first year alone. But the press criticism of pony cars took its toll and production ceased in 1974 after just a 5-year run. Today the 1970 model is one of the most sought-after muscle cars."

One of the nicer Hot Wheels Challengers, this one even has the bottom nicely detailed. A real Yellow T/A 340 Six Pack would be hard to come by these days. If it weren't for Hot Wheels that is!

HW Drift Car Pearl Purple DS1.jpg

Even standing still today’s Dodge Challenger Drift Car really looks like it’s drifting! The pearlescent paint is more like a Ghost Pearl and changes shades as you move it in the light. Experiencing this kind of paint on a full-scale vehicle is usually jaw dropping. Seeing it in this 1/64th scale Challenger by Hot Wheels is nothing short of Amazing! Capturing this car in one shade is also nothing short of impossible. With DODGE on the sides, MOPAR on the top, and M’s all around, the full body graphics will not let you down either. The silver interior with roll cage is also fantastic. It is not an interior color I have seen very often and it completes the package as it shines in any light. Go Hot Wheels! Go Mopar!! Go Dodge Challenger!!!

Hot Wheels '71 Dodge Challenger 440 Six-Pack With Shaker in Blue (1).JPG

Hot Wheels gets the checkered flag before it even leaves the box with this 1970 Dodge Challenger!

440 Six Pack, Shaker hood, Real rubber tires and an Awesome paint & decal combination help make this a Real jaw-dropper. Turn it over and it does not stop there with a detail painted metal base. By far one of my favorite Hot Wheels Challengers. This car is Heavy! In more ways than one. Oh, and about the variance between the year on the box and the year on the car - '70, '71 ...whatever it takes. The hood opens and shuts very neatly with the sound of metal on metal. I will let "The World's Coolest Car Company" fill in the rest.

Please read the box for more about this series.

"Motown muscle cars may have fallen out of favor in the mid-'70's, but 4-speed, big block, boulevard bruisers with maximum horsepower have remained popular among car enthusiasts to this day. The '71 Dodge Challenger with a 440 cid and three deuces burned its own chapter into the history books as one of the truly magnificent muscle machines."
